From January 29th to February 4th, 2024, as part of the 50 Weeks of the European City of Science Katowice 2024, there will be an Artificial Intelligence Week. The curator of the week is Prof. Jan Kozak, Head of the Machine Learning Department at the University of Economics in Katowice. On the last day, in a panel discussion titled "Women in the Development of Artificial Intelligence", the Rector, Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc., will participate.

About the Week Curator
Prof. Jan Kozak - Head of the Machine Learning Department at the University of Economics in Katowice, leader of the research group at Łukasiewicz - EMAG, and director of the Cyber Science consortium, is a well-known expert who has been conducting research in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning for many years. He actively participates in various projects, both academic and industrial. With his passion, he encourages young people to engage in scientific activities, inspiring them to explore this discipline.
Schedule of Events
As part of the Artificial Intelligence Week from January 29th to February 4th, various lectures and workshops related to different aspects of artificial intelligence will take place on the campus of the University of Economics in Katowice, at the Kato Science Corner of the Silesian University of Technology, and other institutions in our city. The events will mainly be conducted in Polish.
We particularly invite students and foreign employees on January 29th to an English-language lecture titled "AI for multimedia and XR," which will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 at Kato Science Corner. The lecture will be conducted by Hannes Fassold.
