Awarding of Appointments to Leadership Positions for the 2024-2028 Term

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, a formal ceremony for awarding appointments to leadership positions took place in the Senate Hall of the University of Economics in Katowice. HM The Rector, Prof. dr hab. inż. Celina M. Olszak, presided over the ceremony.

I firmly believe and trust that we will create a professional team that will support each other and, above all, fulfill both the mission and strategy of the University, which is based on a commitment to high-quality education, research, international cooperation, and cooperation with the surrounding environment, all within a climate of sustainable and safe development.

The coming term will undoubtedly present us with many new challenges. We are gradually concluding the celebrations of Katowice as the European City of Science 2024, but soon there is still much activity. We face a huge challenge in implementing the BAUHAUS4EU project, thanks to which our University has obtained the status of a European University.

We also have another evaluation ahead of us. We will have to undertake very specific, intensive work in the area of applying for new scientific disciplines. Today, we are also paying special attention to cooperation with the environment. Without this cooperation, without a concept of how to transfer knowledge and technology to the environment, it is difficult to imagine that the university can be an innovative, dynamically developing unit that solves real economic and social problems. I hope that with your help, we will be able to realize all these intentions and plans.

I would also like to thank you all very much for accepting the invitation to fill these important leadership positions at our University. I wish you that the fulfillment of your tasks will bring you great joy and satisfaction and will also be an opportunity for further professional advancement – emphasized HM The Rector.
