From 26 to 28 May, four students from the European University Alliance BAUHAUS4EU - including Miłosz Serafin from the University of Economics in Katowice - took part in the prestigious European Student Assembly (ESA), held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
This unique event, organised annually, brings together students from across Europe to debate the most pressing challenges of our time. This year, ESA participants worked within eight thematic panels covering topics such as mental health, climate policy, artificial intelligence, and inclusivity.
Out of over 2,000 applicants, only 230 students were selected - among them, four representatives of the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance: Miłosz Serafin from the University of Economics in Katowice, Kartik Bist and Narayana Manikanta Sunnit Satya Sai Gattupalli Eswar from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and Lorenzo Di Piazza from Université Lumière Lyon 2.
"Just being in the Parliament felt surreal," said Kartik Bist. "Sitting in the chamber and voting on policies really made me feel the importance of the democratic process."
"It was pure joy and an honour," added Lorenzo Di Piazza. "ESA 2025 was my first international experience - and definitely not the last!"
"It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I am extremely grateful for it," summed up Miłosz Serafin.
ESA is not just a forum for discussion - it’s a space where the voices of Europe’s youth are heard and where democracy is strengthened through active participation. The students represented different regions, fields of study and universities, enhancing their intercultural communication skills and working together on shared solutions for Europe's future. Alongside nearly 40 university alliances, they contributed to the goals of BAUHAUS4EU: building a resilient, sustainable, inclusive and culturally rich future.
