Call for proposals to the "Youth Science" grant program is now open

The "Youth Science" grant program was established to fund research, integrate the academic community, and increase the visibility of the Metropolis GZM's scientific potential. As part of the program, funding for team-based research may be awarded to students of the Doctoral Schools of the universities of the Academic Consortium Katowice—City of Science (people pursuing doctoral degrees). The maximum amount of project funding is PLN 10,000.00. Research teams may include students from other Consortium universities. The call for applications lasts until June 14, 2024.

The benefits of participating in the program are not only in terms of deepening teamwork skills, testing scientific methodology and putting research into practice, but also a unique opportunity to present the results at the Silesian Science Festival!

  • Learning to use research methods in practice;
  • Obtaining an academic achievement;
  • Integrating the academic community;
  • Establishing cooperation with representatives of different universities in the Metropolis.

  • Spreading knowledge of scientific methodologies;
  • Obtaining scientific data;
  • Integrating the academic community;
  • Establishing cooperation with representatives of different universities in the Metropolis.

Conditions for participation in the program

  1. For students at Doctoral Schools or people pursuing doctoral degrees: having the status of doctoral student at least until the end of the calendar year 2024 at one of the Consortium universities;
  2. For students: having the status of an undergraduate, graduate, or long-cycle program student at one of the Consortium universities.

Please note that the project is open to all years and semesters of education.

Project progress:

  • Call for project proposals. 
  • Contest settlement.
  • Formation of project teams. 
  • Project work.
  • Report on activities.
  • Presentation of results at the Silesian Science Festival.
