The University Day, celebrated on January 13, 2025, in Auditorium A, provided the opportunity to confer the honorary title of Honorary Professor of the University of Economics in Katowice to retired academic staff who have made significant contributions to our Alma Mater. This year, two scholars were honored with this prestigious distinction.
The title of Honorary Professor of the University of Economics in Katowice was awarded to:
- dr hab. Agata Małysa-Kaleta
- dr hab. Andrzej Bajdak
This segment of the event was led by the Vice-Rector for Science and Academic Staff Development prof. dr hab. Maciej Nowak, while the diplomas were presented by HM the Rector, prof. dr hab. inż. Celina M. Olszak.
On behalf of the Honorary Professors, dr hab. Agata Małysa-Kaleta spoke:
"The title of Honorary Professor, recommended by our Faculty Councils and granted by the University Senate, is an immensely honorable event for us. It fills us with pride and deep satisfaction. Thanks to this distinction, we will remain genuinely connected to our Alma Mater [...]. We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who nominated us and to those who conferred this title upon us [...]."
During the Honorary Professors' decoration, the University of Economics in Katowice Choir performed "Canticorum Iubilo".
