COP28 Climate Conference kicked off in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) on November 30, 2023. Dr. Marcin Kraśniewski, LL.M., who represents our University, is also member of the negotiating team at the 28th Climate Conference, which will conclude on December 12.
COP28's thematic agenda aims to unite a wide variety of stakeholders - all levels of government, youth, businesses and investors, general society, frontline communities, indigenous people and others - all focused on specific solutions that need to be implemented on a larger scale this decade to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, build resilience and mobilize financing at a large scale. This set of solutions responds to a global review that analyzes the world's position on climate action and support, identifies gaps, and works collaboratively to reach solutions to the year 2030 and beyond.
COP28 Climate Conference is attended by President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, who took part in the ceremonial plenary session. Dr. Marcin Kraśniewski, LL.M. from the Department of Energy Transition, also represents the Polish delegation at the event. The President of the Republic of Poland and our University expert also took part in the World Climate Action Summit.
According to the Head of the International Policy Bureau, the President will speak at this year's Conference about international cooperation related to the development of ambitious pro-climate solutions, among other things. For more information, please visit prezydent.pl, (in Polish and English).
