On May 21-23, 2025, our University hosted the Accreditation Committee of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) as part of the reaccreditation process for the Master's Degree in International Business program.
Our University obtained the prestigious EFMD Accredited in 2022, joining an elite group of institutions that meet the highest international standards in management education. This accreditation is one of the most demanding quality certificates for business programs in the world. It is awarded following a detailed analysis of the program's position on the national and international market, its strategic importance for the university, the quality of teaching, relations with the business environment and graduates, and the competence of the academic staff, among other things.
The Committee's visit was preceded by preparing a detailed Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and a comprehensive set of documents in the Base Room digital repository, which were submitted to the Committee in March 2025.
During the two-day visit, several meetings were held with over 60 participants, including University authorities, university teachers, administrative staff, students (Polish and international), graduates, and business community representatives.
The Chair of the EFMD Accreditation Committee expressed her appreciation for the high quality of preparation and organization of the entire process. The decision on re-accreditation will be made by the EFMD Council in the coming weeks, based on the recommendations of the visiting team.
The following persons were responsible for the merit-based supervision of the preparations: Prof. Wojciech Dyduch, Vice-Rector for Teaching and International Relations, and dr Przemysław Zbierowski, Prof. UE, Program Director of International Business.
Mgr Edyta Lachowicz-Santos coordinated the entire process.

Marta Grybś-Kabocik, dr. Hanna Kelm, dr. Agnieszka Skręt-Bednarz, dr. Łucja Waligóra, dr Magdalena Dominiczewska, dr. Olgierd Witczak, and mgr Marta Hulbój-Niziałek.
The work of the Team was coordinated by its Chair, dr hab. Agata Austen, prof. UE.
Exceptional support was provided by dr hab. Monika Sulimowska-Formowicz, prof. UE and dr Olgierd Witczak, who also participated in the process of obtaining the first EFMD accreditation three years ago, as well as dr Magdalena Dominiczewska, Program Manager.
International accreditations, such as EFMD Accredited and CEEMAN IQA (obtained by our University in 2020), are one of the pillars of the strategy for internationalization and development of the quality of education at the University of Economics in Katowice.
