FAB students on the path to earning a double degree

For the first time, four students from the Finance and Accounting for Business program are spending a semester abroad at the University of Business and Society Ludwigshafen. Julia Nowak, Michał Kocur, Jakub Conrad, and Caroline Fok are the inaugural participants in the new Double Degree Master Program, which enables them to earn both Polish and German diplomas.

The program’s launch was marked by a visit in Ludwigshafen from Dr. Rafał Buła, Program Manager of Finance and Accounting for Business. During his visit, he introduced first-semester Master’s students to the world of derivatives and highlighted the opportunities offered by the double degree program in Poland.

"Our students benefit immensely from the international perspectives and practical expertise provided by our partner universities," emphasized Prof. Gösta Jamin, Program Director of the Master’s in Finance & Accounting. "At the same time, it is truly rewarding to see our collaboration with Katowice come to life".

The visit concluded with a celebratory dinner attended by Dean Prof. Birgit Angermayer, Prof. Gösta Jamin, Alexandra Ege from the International Office, Christiane Weinerth, Program Manager of the Master’s in Finance & Accounting, as well as students and guests from Poland.

There was widespread satisfaction about the successful launch, and the outlook is promising: as early as the winter semester 2026/27, the first German Master’s students may spend their double degree semester at the University of Economics in Katowice.

"Our cooperation is bearing its first fruits and continues to grow," said Prof. Jamin - "It is a win for both sides".
