We launched the summer semester of the academic year 2025/2026 together with an international group. We welcomed a group of nearly 50 students from over 23 countries, who came to Katowice primarily as part of the Erasmus+ program. To help them settle in, the Welcome Point team organized another edition of Integration Week, which took place on February 16-20, 2026.
The event was opened with speeches by representatives of Student Services, International Relations, and Internationalization. Thanks to the program, participants were able to smoothly integrate into academic and city life. Students took part in Polish language workshops and engaging events that not only helped the group bond but also taught them how to get around Katowice efficiently. Participants also had the opportunity to discover the cultural gems of the region by visiting the Silesian Museum and the Planetarium in Chorzów.
The highlight of the event was Friday's finale - Global Village, organized on February 20 at the BaseCamp dormitory. It was a true celebration of multiculturalism, during which students proudly presented their national traditions and served local delicacies from their home countries.
The success of this edition is due to the close cooperation of university units: Welcome Point (part of Internationalization), International Relations, and Student Services Dean's Office. The support of students participating in the "Uni Buddy" program, who ensured a friendly atmosphere and provided substantive support to their new colleagues during the first days of their stay, also proved invaluable.
We are convinced that Integration Week is just the beginning of a successful academic and personal adventure at our University. The international community is a key part of our identity, which is why we are happy to foster a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences.
