International Academic Conference 2023 [coverage]

On the 25th and 26th of May, an international scientific debate on energy took place in Pszczyna and Katowice, featuring renowned expert Professor Raphael Heffron, whose expertise is highly valued by numerous companies and institutions. The event brought together representatives from the University of Economics in Katowice, including Her Magnificence Rector Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc, Vice-Rector for Science and Academic Staff Development prof. Maciej Nowak, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D. and representatives of the Department of Energy Transformation: Prof. Marzena Czarnecka Ph.D., Marcin Kraśniewski Ph.D., Dorota Benduch Ph.D, Aleksandra Lubicz-Posochowska Ph.D. and Grzegorz Zych MSc.

The conference focused on the global, European, and Polish energy landscapes, providing a platform for an in-depth scholarly discussion. The presence of Professor Raphael Heffron added immense value to the event, given his expertise and reputation in the field. Participants had the opportunity to engage in insightful conversations, exchange knowledge, and explore new perspectives on energy-related topics.

All distinguished guests, professor and colleagues. It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to the International Conference on Energy Justice and Transition organized by the University of Economics in Katowice. We know that the world has significantly changed and requires new ideas for the development of the global energy policy. This is why we have gathered here in Pszczyna and Katowice to reflect, debate and imagine groundbreaking solutions for the main job challenges that we face today.

The ceremonial opening of the Conference, held at the Castle Museum in Pszczyna, was also attended by Vice-Rector for Science and Academic Staff Development prof. Maciej Nowak, Ph.D.
