International integration at our University 2026

We are delighted to begin the summer semester of the academic year 2025/2026 by welcoming nearly 50 students, mainly from the Erasmus+ program, representing over 23 countries, to our University. To help them get started in their new environment, Welcome Point has prepared another edition of Integration Week, which takes place February 16-20, 2026.

The program for the first days of their stay has been designed for students to comfortably familiarize themselves with their new academic and local environment. The schedule is filled with activities ranging from practical Polish language workshops to engaging integration games, which encourage participants to make new friends. These activities will take place at many locations on the University campus and in the city, allowing participants to move around Katowice with ease in the future. Joint trips to key locations in the region, such as the Silesian Museum and the Planetarium in Chorzów, are also an important part of the event.

The week will culminate with Global Village on Friday, February 20. This is a unique opportunity for intercultural exchange of experiences, learning about traditions from distant corners of the world, and tasting local dishes prepared by students.

Our Integration Week is the result of close cooperation between the Welcome Point team (part of Internationalization), International Relations,  Student Services, and other units at the University. We especially appreciate the involvement of students participating in the Uni Buddy program. These students, both Polish and international, act as mentors, supporting newcomers during their first days at the University, helping them find their way around, and creating an open and friendly atmosphere.

We believe that Integration Week will not only mark the beginning of an academic adventure for our new students, but also an opportunity to establish lasting relationships and discover the potential offered by Katowice and the entire region. The international community is a vital part of our University's identity, which is why we are proud to create a space that fosters dialogue, cooperation, and mutual cultural exchange. We wish all students an inspiring semester and many successes, both academic and personal.
