On April 4, 2025, the inaugural workshop of the project The Geopolitics of Ukraine and Its EU Integration in the V4 Context will take place at the Center for New Information Technologies of the University of Economics in Katowice. The project is funded by the Visegrad Fund (Project No. 22430298). The event is co-organized by the Department of Political Economy at the University of Economics in Katowice, while the consortium leader is the National University of Public Service in Budapest. Other project partners include Mendel University in Brno, the University of Economics in Bratislava, and Karazin National University in Kharkiv.
The opening event of this two-year project will start at 10:00 AM in the CNTI Auditorium with keynote lectures by prof. Tomasz Kubin and prof. Yuliana Palagnyuk from the University of Silesia. Their presentations will focus on the regional consequences of the war in Ukraine and the challenges of the European integration process from a Ukrainian perspective.
In the afternoon, a closed workshop session will be held for representatives of all partner universities. The program includes integration activities, workshops on the functioning and future of the Visegrad Group, and a meta-planning discussion on deepening Ukraine–V4 cooperation in the context of European integration.
