Pursuant to the Rector's Order No. 92/2022, we outline the procedure for hiring academic teachers in light of the Law of March 12, 2022 on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with the Armed Conflict on the Territory of the Country.
The procedure applies to the employment of Ukrainian academic teachers at the University of Economics in Katowice without conducting the usual competition for the position, as referred to in Article 119 (1) of the Law of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science. This applies to the citizens of Ukraine whose residence in the Republic of Poland is recognized as legal under Article 2 (1) of the Law of March 12, 2022 on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with the Armed Conflict on the Territory of the Country, who declare that on February 24, 2022 they worked as academic teachers at the university(s) operating on the territory of Ukraine and have the required professional title, academic or art degree, or hold the title of professor and possess the relevant qualifications for the position.
Formal requirements
The candidate submits the documents in accordance with the requirements for the relevant position listed in (91)-(94) of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, the following in particular:
- work application addressed to the Rector with provided mailing address and contact information (e-mail address and telephone number);
- CV;
- personal questionnaire;
- a photocopy/scan of the diploma with a Polish or English translation;
- other documents confirming the candidate's qualifications;
- statement of continuous employment as of February 24, 2022 as an academic teacher at a university operating in Ukraine;
- a statement on the legal basis for the legality of stay ( 2 (1) of the Law of March 12, 2022 on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with the Armed Conflict on the Territory of the Country);
- a declaration of relationship to the immediate supervisor;
- statement of primary/secondary workplace;
- statement regarding legal capacity, no criminal record and exercise of public rights;
- a declaration of consent for the processing of personal data.

Employment procedure
Head of the Department submits a request to the Rector to hire a candidate without a competition procedure:
- by submitting the candidate's application documents for review;
- proposing a position for the candidate;
- submitting planned teaching loads for the candidate.
On the basis of the documents submitted, the Rector decides to cancel the competition procedure and hire the candidate for a period not exceeding 4 years.
