Rector's Family Day [coverage]

On June 22, 2023, the first Rector's Family Day was held at our University. The event was dedicated to both academic and administrative staff together with their loved ones and turned out to be a great success among the academic community. There were numerous activities for our youngest as well as slightly older guests, thanks to which the participants spent time together in an especially relaxed and festive mood. There was plenty of fun, smiles and emotions!

Rector's Family Day

Rector's Family Day was the first initiative of its kind at our University, where the academic community could show their workplace to their loved ones – children, parents, or friends. The timing of the event coincided with the end of the school year, as well as the recently celebrated Mother's Day, Children's Day and Father's Day, all of which the academic community could celebrate together joyfully and gratefully.

The official opening was attended by: Her Magnificence Rector Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc, Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with External Environment Prof. Robert Wolny, Ph.D., and Chancellor Pawel Kadłubiak.

EkonoMiś Bear

Then our Rector introduced our little and big guests to EkonoMiś Bear, which is our sweet little mascot prepared especially for children (but not only;) attending Rector’s Family Day. At the end of the official part of the event, each child received EkonoMiś, who accompanied them during further activities.

Attractions

Subsequently, the entire event moved to the CNTI parking lot, where refreshments and plenty of activities awaited our guests, such as:

bouncy castle,
outdoor games,
workshops with our Song and Dance Ensemble "Silesianie",
a tour of the campus in the form of an on-site game.

There was also plenty of water for cooling down in the form of water curtains provided especially for the event by Katowickie Wodociągi S.A. (Katowice Waterworks S.A.).

Around 1:00 p.m., Rector's Family Day officially ended, and our youngest guests received diplomas of Little Explorers of the University of Economics in Katowice.
