We are pleased to announce that an article by Prof. Ewa W. Ziemba, Dr. Ewa W. Maruszewska, and Dr. Anna Karmańska, titled "Critical Digital Data Enabling Traceability for Smart Honey Value Chains", has been published in the prestigious Journal of Computer Information Systems, which is listed in the Journal Citation Reports (commonly known as the Philadelphia List). The Journal of Computer Information Systems holds a high ranking in terms of its Impact Factor (5-year IF = 3.1, Q2) among journals focusing on the use of information systems for improving public and business organizations as well as societal transformation. The article discusses key data in honey value chains that are essential for ensuring their transparency. These data points were identified through qualitative research, which included 30 semi-structured interviews with beekeeping experts in Poland. The total duration of the interviews amounted to approximately 27 hours, with an average interview length of 54 minutes—the longest interview lasted 101 minutes, while the shortest was 31 minutes. The full interview transcripts span 462 pages, averaging 16 pages per interview. The collected data underwent thematic analysis, and the results are presented in the article.
We invite you to read the article on the journal’s website.
The publication presents research findings from the Department of Computer Science and International Accounting at our university, led by Prof. Ewa W. Ziemba, as part of the international project "Trustable and Sustainable Open Platform for Smart Honey Value Chains" (TOP4HoneyChains).
The TOP4HoneyChains project is funded by the National Centre for Research and Development under the ERA-NET CO-FUND ICT-AGRI-FOOD (2022) initiative, implemented within the EU Horizon 2020 framework program (Grant Agreement No. 862665, 2023-2026, PLN 938,500). The goal of ERA-NET CO-FUND ICT-AGRI-FOOD is to develop more transparent agri-food systems that enhance the transparency of food value chains for consumers and other stakeholders through digital technologies.
We invite you to explore the project and ongoing research on its website.
