Song and Dance Ensemble "Silesianie" is not slowing down and visits newer and newer corners of the world. This year, our artists are focusing on Europe. Out of the three trips planned for this year, the group has already made two of them!
The alumni were the first group to hit the road - they are the people who attended dance classes during their studies and still continue to dance after their graduation! This year, they visited North Macedonia, Ohrid to be more specific, a picturesque city located on Lake Ohrid, in the shadow of the Galichica Mountains. The gathered audience could see some of the traditional Polish dances, such as “krakowiak” and a suite of Rzeszów dances.
A few days later, the main “Silesianie” team hit the road again and took part in the "Kozarsko Kolo" festival, which took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the festival, the ensemble gave six performances. Each concert was organised in a different city, so that our culture might have reached an even bigger audience. The repertoire included Silesian Beskidy mountains highlanders’ dances, Opole and Racibórz dancing suites, “Bąk" (“The Bumblebee”), "Hólan" from Cieszyn Silesia region, and other dancing compositions of Silesian and Polish National dances.
Song and Dance Ensemble "Silesianie" plans another international trip. But for the time being, the final destination remains a secret. Go and check out their social media and feel free to follow their adventures!
