Between June 26 and 30, thirteen students from the International Business program, along with representatives from universities in Belgium, Spain, France, Germany, Romania, Switzerland, Hungary, and Italy, participated in the European project titled "Experiential education. Interactive/Intensive course of European brand management - BrandY" held in Valencia, Spain. The group of Polish students represent the IB Research Club operating under the supervision of prof. Justyna Matysiewicz, Ph.D., Marta Grybś-Kabocik, Ph.D, and Prof. Sławomir Smyczek, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations at the Department of Consumer Research.
During the BrandY project, the students actively took part in a business game related to creating and managing brands of international companies in the market. Thanks to a specially developed computer simulation during the three-year project, the students gained practical knowledge about brand development, market positioning, building consumer loyalty, and entering new international markets. The success of the group was determined by their level of marketing knowledge, the ability to make rational market and financial decisions, as well as creativity and preparedness for working in international teams.
An international jury consisting of professors who created the BrandY game recognized the students representing the University of Economics in Katowice for their commitment, professionalism, and creativity. The team, composed of Wanda Bohm, Marta Herman, Karolina Hoeftmann, Karolina Mucha, Karolina Poliel, Wiktoria Różcka, Dominika Staś, Wiktoria Studzuarz, Anna Tenczer, Karolina Wojtasik, Alan Wójcik, Karolina Wróbel, and Marta Zocłońska, received special diplomas.
