Staff Week at B4EU Partner University: Lyon 2

From November 25 to 27, 2025, Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France hosted the Staff Week Connecting Regional Ecosystems for staff members from universities in the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance involved in activities related to regional ecosystems as well as entrepreneurship and innovation support. The University of Economics in Katowice was represented by: dr hab. Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala, prof. UE, dr Marcin Baron and Yelyzaveta Kashlieva from the Internationalization Office.

The aim of the meeting was to develop joint initiatives related to the creation of regional living labs, collaborative spaces linking universities with socio-economic partners, as well as to strengthen regional ecosystems and work on solutions in the field of academic entrepreneurship and innovation support. Intensive work on key project results and milestones helped deepen inter-university cooperation and refine shared directions of action.

A key highlight of the program was the second day of the Staff Week, when a session of the Regional Council was held, bringing together representatives of Lyon 2 University and its institutional and regional partners. During the plenary sessions, participants discussed the challenges faced by European regions, the role of universities in building local innovation ecosystems, and the importance of cross-sector collaboration. Participants also took part in workshops focused on challenge-based regional course catalogs, Bauhaus Courses, and interregional cooperation networks

In addition to the formal program, the Staff Week fostered team integration, the exchange of views and good practices, and the joint development of solutions that will contribute to the effective implementation of innovation within the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance.
