The success of our International Business students in the Markstrat simulation game – Bucharest 2024

From January 29 to February 2, 2024, nine students majoring in International Business and representatives from universities in Bulgaria, Spain, Germany, Romania, and Italy participated in the Markstrat marketing game. Our students represented the IB research club operating at the Department of Consumer Research under the supervision of Prof. Justyna Ganassali, Marta Grybś-Kabocik, Ph.D., and Prof. Sławomir Smyczek. The main organizer of the event was the University of Bucharest.

During Markstrat, students worked in international groups divided into two industries, supervised by teachers and tutors. Through computer simulations, they gained practical knowledge about making strategic marketing decisions for companies operating in a globally competitive environment. The group's success was determined by profit and market share, as well as their teamwork skills and ability to present the results.

Our students' efforts and excellent preparation resulted in success and the gold medal won by Karolina Imiołek. Meanwhile, Karolina Mucha and Oliver Šul'ák were awarded the silver medal in the individual branches. Mohamed Elmalah, Karolina Hoeftmann, Nikola Piekarz, Anna Prokop, Wiktoria Wieczorkowska and Karolina Wojtasik won bronze medals in their respective branches.

In addition, the organizers appreciated our tutors, Mirna Elmalah, Wanda Majchrzak, and Błażej Błoch, for their excellent knowledge of the functioning of international business, high soft skills, reliable work, firm commitment to the Markstrat game and openness to cooperation in a multicultural environment.

We would like to congratulate all students and tutors and wish them further success, especially in the realities of the actual global market!
