On 28 May, Edyta Lachowicz-Santos - Director of the Internationalization Office - represented the University of Economics in Katowice and the BAUHAUS4EU European University Alliance, of which UE Katowice is a member, at the EU-ASEAN Networking Event: Advancing Partnerships in Higher Education, held at KU Leuven, which is celebrating its 600th anniversary this year.
The event brought together representatives from universities across the European Union and ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Brunei, to discuss strengthening academic collaboration, developing research partnerships, and promoting people-to-people exchange.
On behalf of BAUHAUS4EU, UE Katowice’s delegate took part in discussions with representatives of other European university alliances such as Una Europa, ENLIGHT, AcrossEU, T4EU, and Sunrise. Key topics included:
- building platforms for joint research on global challenges,
- fostering innovation in the fields of climate change and digital transformation,
- enhancing capacity building and knowledge sharing through mutual understanding.
The meeting served as a clear reminder that collaboration in higher education is not only institutional - it is fundamentally about human relationships that have the power to drive meaningful international change.
