On 5-7 May 2026, representatives of the University of Economics in Katowice took part in the interregional workshop “Education Driven Resilience”, held at POLIS University in Tirana. The event was organised as part of the activities of the BAUHAUS4EU alliance.

The meeting brought together academic leaders, regional partners, and key stakeholders from partner universities and cooperating institutions within the alliance. The programme included plenary sessions, thematic workshops, and networking meetings focused on the role of education in strengthening regional resilience and supporting sustainable and inclusive development.

On the first day, the event was officially opened by:

  • Besnik Aliaj - Rector of POLIS University
  • Mirela Kumbaro - Minister of Education
  • Artan Hoxha - Rector of the University of Tirana
  • Tonia Schmitz - Secretary General of the BAUHAUS4EU alliance

The workshop was the second largest alliance event after the annual Forum, bringing together alliance members and regional partners. This year’s edition was combined with the 20th anniversary celebrations of POLIS University, attended also by representatives of the diplomatic corps, including the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, as well as Albanian national and regional authorities.

As part of the programme, participants took part in workshops with regional partners from Albania and representatives of companies and institutions from Sweden, Germany, and France. An important element of the event was also the Chancellors’ meeting devoted to the future and sustainability of the alliance after the end of Erasmus+ funding.

The next official meeting of alliance partners will take place in Katowice during the Second BAUHAUS4EU Forum, scheduled for 22-26 June 2026.
