Kamil Lorek, a student in the Urban Economics and Real Estate program, participated in a session of the Parliamentary Committee on Transplantation held at the Senate of the Republic of Poland on August 28, 2023. During the session, Kamil presented the findings from his research conducted as part of his diploma thesis under the supervision of Hanna Kelm, Ph.D., titled "Identification of transplantology problems in the Polish healthcare system".
The session was attended by the Marshal of the Senate, Prof. Tomasz Grodzki, Senator Prof. Alicja Chybicka, distinguished professors, doctors, coordinators, and specialists in the field of medicine, clinic directors, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations.
Kamil's call to action urging an increase in public awareness about transplantation among the residents of Poland served as an inspiration for parliamentarians to convene the session.
