From June 7 to 14, 2025, a foreign delegation of MBA students from the University of Malta, accompanied by visiting professors, will visit Poland. The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice. The entire project is organized and coordinated by Dr. Paulina Żmijowska from the Department of International Management.
The visit follows the signing of a partnership agreement in August 2024 between L-Università ta' Malta and the University of Economics in Katowice, as well as a study visit to Malta in November 2024 by Dr. hab. Michał Kuci, Prof. UE, and Dr. Paulina Żmijowska from the Department of International Management.
The MBA students' visit to Poland is structured around three main pillars related to management processes, human resources, infrastructure development, and direct investment in urban areas of various sizes: from large cities (Katowice, Kraków), through medium-sized towns (Bielsko-Biała), to small municipalities and local communities (Milówka). During the visit, the MBA students will become acquainted with the socio-economic environment of the Silesian and Lesser Poland regions. They will meet with city authorities, representatives of the business sector, regional development agencies, as well as cultural institutions and NGOs.
Throughout the visit, based on their experiences, the students will work in groups on a final project to be presented during a workshop on the last day of their stay in Poland. The topic of the project focuses on the impact of the selected environment (a local municipality, a medium-sized city, or a large agglomeration) on socio-economic development and depopulation. The result of the visit will be the development of a joint scientific report on strategies for managing the socio-economic environment in selected areas.
The delegation from Malta will visit the University of Economics in Katowice on Monday, June 9, 2025, and will meet with the university authorities in the Rector’s Patio at 11:30 AM.
