We are proud and delighted to announce that the BAUHAUS4EU European University Alliance, which includes the University of Economics in Katowice along with nine other partner universities from nine countries (Germany, France, Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, and Albania), has received project funding of €14.4 million for the next four years.
With the project approval, the BAUHAUS4EU alliance officially gains the status of a European University. This means that the University of Economics in Katowice, as a co-creator and partner of this alliance, joins the elite group of 64 university networks promoted and financially supported by the European Union to increase competitiveness in the common European higher education market.
The alliances are designed to provide universities with the ability to enhance the quality of education for youth, helping them gain professional and civic competencies at the highest level, as well as conducting high-quality, innovative scientific research according to the highest European standards, all in the spirit of European values, transparency, and ethical norms.
This ambitious European Union initiative will offer students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and administrative staff of the University of Economics in Katowice the opportunity for multidimensional exchange and collaboration, the creation of new educational projects, joint studies, the acquisition of joint diplomas, the development of scientific research, and the integration of administrative processes.
The efforts to obtain the status of a European University for the BAUHAUS4EU alliance lasted over three years. Last year, the alliance’s project was awarded the Seal of Excellence by the European Commission. Intense work on new initiatives and the expansion of the alliance with new partners resulted in a high evaluation of this year's project and the decision for full funding of the entire alliance.
At this point, thanks are due to all the staff members of our University who were involved in preparing the project, especially the leaders and substantive coordinators of the individual modules, team members, and administrative coordinators.
