On March 11, the entire community of the University of Economics in Katowice celebrated World Consumer Rights Day under this year’s theme: "Fair Transition Towards a Sustainable Lifestyle." This is a celebration for all of us, as each of us is a consumer.
World Consumer Rights Day Celebrations
World Consumer Rights Day aims to raise awareness of consumer rights and business ethics among students and graduates. On this day, consumer organizations remind all market participants of their rights and responsibilities.
To mark the occasion, the University of Economics in Katowice organized a panel discussion titled "Fair Transition Towards a Sustainable Lifestyle" as well as a special competition for students to engage the entire academic community in this important initiative.
In the CNTI Auditorium, the event was opened by prof. dr hab. Sławomir Smyczek, Head of the Department of Consumer Research, who welcomed the guests, introduced the panelists, and provided insight into the history of World Consumer Rights Day. The official inauguration was led by dr hab. Adam Samborski, prof. UE, Dean of the Faculty of Management.
