Economics without borders ECS Katowice 2024

The project aims to popularize science on an international scale by organizing unique events. These will provide an opportunity for scientific debates and presentations of scientific achievements, research, and the work of outstanding scientists from all over Europe.

The events are designed to present economic and socio-cultural issues, including aspects of social responsibility and sustainable development as a whole, from the perspective of other disciplines showing the interdisciplinary nature of economics:

  1. Economics vs. transformation of regions and ecology
  2. Economics vs. technology and IT
  3. Economics vs. law and politics
  4. Economics vs. music and art

The event is scheduled for November 6-8, 2024.  This year's formula involves a series of debates involving university teachers and students of Katowice universities (2 days) and motivational speeches popularizing science among high school students and the local community (third day).

Economics without borders is a continuation of the intercontinental "Economics without borders" project implemented within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science's "Social Responsibility of Science" program for years 2021-2023.

The current edition is part of the celebration of the European City of Science 2024 (ECSK 2024). This prestigious title is awarded by EuroScience (European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology) in cooperation with the European Commission. The title has been awarded thanks to the efforts of the City of Katowice and seven public universities forming the Academic Consortium Katowice City of Science.
