Participation of Department employees in the Finance Departments Conference 2024

On September 16-17, 2024, the Department's employees participated in the Conference of Finance Departments 2024 "Contemporary Finance - Trends, Challenges, Dilemmas".

This year's Conference was exceptional for the Department of Corporate Finance and Insurance, because together with the Department of Banking and Financial Markets and Public Finance of the University of Economics in Katowice, they organized this most important meeting of scientists in the field of finance in Poland.

The Department's employees were actively involved in the preparation of the Conference: the Program Council of the KKF2024 included dr hab. Joanna Błach, prof. UE, the members of the Organizing Committee were: dr Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś and dr Małgorzata Lipowicz.

The scientific activities of the Department's employees were in the following forms:

• dr hab. Joanna Błach, prof. UE moderating session XX "Current challenges of the agricultural and insurance sectors",
• dr hab. Joanna Błach, prof. UE, dr hab. Elżbieta Bukalska, prof. UMCS, dr hab. Bogna Kaźmierska-Jóźwiak, prof. UŁ, Anita Radman Pesa, Ph.D submitted paper "Sustainable development and financial results of enterprises - the importance of ownership structure and corporate governance of listed companies" 
• dr inż. Iwona Gorzeń-Mitka delivered a paper entitled “Disclosure of information on ESG risk-taking – the perspective of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange”,
• dr Danuta Kozłowska-Makóś delivered a paper entitled “Challenges of transfer pricing policy and sustainable development in capital groups”,
• dr Małgorzata Lipowicz delivered a paper entitled “Barriers to the use of municipal bonds on the example of local government units in the GZM Metropolis”,
• mgr Krzysztof Pałęga delivered a paper entitled “Methods of examining the state of insolvency of enterprises based on the provisions of the Bankruptcy Law”,
• mgr Anna Sikora delivered a paper entitled “The future of Polish mining in the light of decarbonization”.
