Financial Support

Students applying for the Erasmus+ scholarship may stay abroad for winter or summer semester of the next academic year. They receive a scholarship for the entire period of stay confirmed by the host university in an official document and according to the rates applicable in the given country.

Students may extend their stay at the partner university by another semester within one academic year, i.e. from winter semester only to the full academic year, but with no guarantee of receiving an Erasmus+ scholarship for the summer semester.

Students "with fewer opportunities"

Students who are entitled to receive a social scholarship in UEKat at the time of submitting the application for mobility, will be entitled to obtain an Erasmus + scholarship in an increased amount (i.e. an additional EUR 250 / month).

Students with disabilities will be entitled to obtain an Erasmus + scholarship in an increased amount (i.e. additional EUR 250 / month) and the possibility of settling additional costs related to the certificate of the degree of disability (based on an additional application to the National Agency).

A student who is entitled to a UEKat social scholarship at the time of recruitment for the Erasmus+ Programme and notes this fact in the "Application Form" will be granted additional financial support in the amount of EUR 250/month.

A student with a documented disability certificate will receive additional financial support (in the form of a lump sum) in the amount of EUR 250/month, after submitting a valid disability certificate upon request and within the deadline set by International Relations Office.

If the costs of the granted additional support paid in the form of a lump sum are insufficient, a student with a certified degree of disability may apply for additional funds on the basis of a separate application addressed to the International Relations Office  (to the University Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Programme).

Additionally, the awarded subsidy amount will be settled on the basis of incurred expenses and will therefore require documentation in the form of financial evidence. The decision on the allocation of additional funds and their amount is made by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE) at the request of UEKat. An application for additional funds should be submitted to International Relations no later than 5 weeks before starting studies at a partner university.

Travel co-financing

      a) Support for travel costs

The student is entitled to a lump sum to cover travel costs. The lump sum amount depends on the distance between the place of departure (i.e. the place where the sending university is located) and the destination (i.e. the place where the receiving university is located) and the choice of means of transport.

The distance of the one-way trip must be taken into account to calculate the lump sum amount payable for the round trip. Distance is calculated using  the European Commissiondistance calculator: ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm

For journeys up to 499 km, participants should use low-emission means of transport.

Standard travel - travel by plane, ship (boat, ferry), car, motorcycle.

"Green travel" - travel by a sustainable (low-emission) means of transport - this should be understood as travel by bus, train, carpooling (a form of public transport in which passengers share a car with at least 2 people traveling to the same university). Green travel is not an option granted to the participant automatically. The student applies to International Relations for recognition of the trip as green travel by submitting a Travel Declaration before departure (a declaration template can be downloaded in the "Documents to download" section), and at the mobility settlement stage - provides documents confirming that he/she made a round-trip (both directions) to the above-mentioned destinations by ecological means of transport.

b) Additional individual support on travel days

A student traveling by standard means of transport will be granted an additional lump sum for a maximum of 2 days for the trip (round trip), provided that the trip takes place on days other than the beginning and end of the study period.

A student traveling with a sustainable (low-emission) means of transport will be granted a lump sum for living expenses during the trip for up to 6 additional days (round trip) depending on the documented number of days of travel and in accordance with the following ranges: 10-499 km lump sum for up to 2 days of travel ; 500 -2999 km lump sum up to 4 days of travel; 3000-3999 km lump sum up to 6 days of travel

Mobility Capital:

  • Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme students may realize their mobilities several times, for a total of 12 months at each level of study.
  • Mobilities for studies and traineeship add up, e.g. a student previously completed a 5-month stay for studies or traineeship during the bachelor degree studies, he/she can still stay abroad for a maximum of 7 months within the same cycle of studies. During the master degree  studies he/she can stay abroad again for  maximum of 12 months.
  • Mobilities realized earlier within the Erasmus+ or Erasmus Mundus program are included in the "mobility capital".
