Are you passionate about travel, gastronomy, and cultural heritage? Would you like to experience the magic of one of Portugal’s most picturesque villages - Monsanto - while gaining international academic experience? Join the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Hospitality and Heritage in the House of the Dragon", hosted by the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (Portugal), and explore how gastronomy, heritage, and rural tourism come together to shape authentic, community-based experiences.
This unique international course combines virtual sessions (3-7 November 2025) with a five-day on-site module in Monsanto (10-14 November 2025). Participants will take part in interactive workshops, cooking and wine-making experiences, heritage tours, and cultural activities such as traditional bread baking, music sessions, and guided tours of filming locations from House of the Dragon.
The programme offers 3 ECTS credits and a rare opportunity to connect with students and experts from across Europe while developing professional skills in sustainable tourism and hospitality management.
Virtual component: Learn about rural tourism development, heritage interpretation, and gastronomy tourism through engaging online lectures.
On-site experience: Live the culture - bake, taste, and explore Portugal’s local traditions in the stunning setting of Monsanto, “the most Portuguese village in Portugal.”
