Do you have an eye for a great shot? Do you enjoy capturing the city, its people and places from a different perspective? Take part in the 2nd BAUHAUS4EU Photography Contest for Students and show how the University of Economics in Katowice and the city around it inspire and enrich one another.
This year’s contest is held under the theme "My City, My University". Students are invited to explore the relationship between their university and the surrounding city and to show how academic life reaches beyond the campus, becoming part of the local community, culture and everyday urban experience. Your photographs may capture places, events, encounters or everyday moments where university and city life come together. Public spaces, cultural heritage, community engagement, sustainability initiatives, innovation and ordinary urban experiences can all become part of your story. The photographs may also reflect four values at the heart of BAUHAUS4EU: resilience, sustainability, inclusivity and beauty.
How can you take part?
The contest is open to students enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year at BAUHAUS4EU universities, including students of the University of Economics in Katowice.
Each participant should submit a series of three photographs telling one coherent story. All photographs must be original, unpublished works created by the participant. AI-generated or AI-manipulated images will not be accepted.
Photographs should be submitted as high-resolution JPEG files, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and a maximum file size of 5 MB per image. Both colour and black-and-white photographs are accepted. Minor editing, such as colour correction or cropping, is permitted.
Your entry, together with the required submission form, must be sent from your official university email account to:
The deadline for submissions is 15 November 2026.
Entries will be evaluated based on their relevance to the contest theme, creativity and originality, storytelling impact and technical quality.
And there is plenty to compete for!
The authors of the three winning entries will have the opportunity to participate in the 3rd BAUHAUS4EU Forum in Amiens. Their photographs will also be featured through BAUHAUS4EU communication channels, and the winners will receive official BAUHAUS4EU Certificates of Achievement and special goodie packs. The first-prize winner will additionally be featured in a dedicated campaign promoting both the photograph and its author.
The three winners will be announced on 16 December 2026.
Take another look at Katowice, discover your university from a new perspective and use photography to tell the story of the place where you study. Capture the connection. Share the impact!
