The University of Economics in Katowice has secured additional funding from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) to implement a project supporting the development of the European University Alliance BAUHAUS4EU: "UEKat in BAUHAUS4EU – Developing the University’s Potential for a European University Supporting Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive Regions". This is a significant achievement, as it marks the first time any partner university has obtained supplementary external funding. Moreover, competition in this call was exceptionally strong – only 13 out of 34 universities that applied were awarded funding.
The project, valued at PLN 967,602, includes:
- support for student mobility and international internships (including scholarships),
- development of staff competencies through training, study visits, and workshops,
- organization of an international Dr Hackathon for PhD students,
- strengthening the international presence of UEKat and the alliance, e.g., through participation in the EAIE conference and education fairs,
- building lasting, integrated project teams within BAUHAUS4EU through training and team-building meetings for work package teams.
With the obtained support, it will be possible to finance activities that were not included in the alliance’s previous budget, including mobility and joint promotion at international fairs. This is another step toward the internationalization of UEKat and strengthening the position of the entire consortium. The initiator of the project and the unit responsible for its implementation is the Internationalization Office.
