On November 26–27, 2025, Łódź hosted the international conference Joint and Double Programs in Europe, dedicated to the future of higher education in Europe. The event brought together representatives from universities, educational institutions, ministries, and organizations from 17 countries. The conference provided a platform for exchanging experiences among European universities in designing and implementing innovative international study programs based on cross-sector collaboration, flexible learning pathways, micro-credentials, and qualification recognition. Special attention was given to joint and double degree programs, which are becoming key pillars of the European transformation of higher education.
A special highlight of the event was the formal awards gala attended by Mirosław Marczewski, Director General of the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), Andrzej Szeptycki, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Łukasz Gołota, Deputy Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), during which Edyta Lachowicz-Santos received the Individual Award for supporting and representing Polish universities in European bodies, as well as for continuously inspiring and motivating the academic community to further develop international collaboration.
