The first edition of the international photography competition organized within the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance has come to an end. Students from ten European universities and one associated partner from Ukraine took part in the contest. The main theme was capturing the "invisible forces" - the elements of everyday academic life that often go unnoticed, yet strongly influence students’ development, wellbeing, and experiences.
Participants turned their cameras toward learning spaces and student life to showcase what evokes emotions, builds a sense of community, provides support, or relates to everyday challenges. The finalist photographs, taken in various countries and cultural contexts, share a common message: European universities are dynamic, resilient, and creative places where people and their emotions, ideas, art, and nature intertwine - often in surprising and symbolic ways.
The winners of this year’s edition are:
- 1st place: Invisible Forces - Babette Bachofner, Université Lumière Lyon 2
- 2nd place:Different stories, one desk - Anastasia Barmpetaki, University of Macedonia
