Beginning of studies involves more than just the first day of classes, but also a number of formalities that must be completed. The following material summarizes the most important information, including contacting the Dean's Office, student email, the USOSweb system, the student oath, the student ID card, the class schedule, and registration for English and physical education classes.
Start of studies 2026/2027 - the most important information for new students
Dean's Office
For any matters related to your studies, you can contact the Dean's Office by email, phone, or in person.
In-person visits must be scheduled in advance via the Google calendar provided by the person responsible for your specific year and program (the link is located on the Dean's Office website, in the appropriate section, under the business card of the person responsible for your specific program and year of study).

Correspondence and applications to the Dean of the School of undergraduate and graduate Studies should only be sent from the address in the @edu.uekat.pl domain, directly to the person responsible for a specific field and year of study.
Login to the USOSweb service
USOSwebis the primary system used to manage your course of study. It is here that you will find, among other things, class schedules and registration for selected classes.
To log in, please use:
- login: PESEL number,
- password: password previously used in the Online Candidate Registration system (IRK).
If you have lost your IRK password, on the USOSweb login page, select the "Set a new password" option and enter your e-mail address in the @edu.uekat.pl domain or contact the dean's office.
The class schedule for the 2026/2027 winter semester will be available on USOSweb no later than two weeks before the start of classes. Schedules are subject to change, so we recommend checking the system regularly for updates.
Email in @edu.uekat.pl domain
Every student at the University of Economics in Katowice is required to use the @edu.uekat.pl email address.
This is the primary email address used by the University to communicate with students, and by students to University staff.
Those who previously studied at the University of Economics in Katowice and already have an active @edu.uekat.pl account do not need to create a new account.
If you experience problems logging in for the first time, please contact the administrator at adm.konta@uekat.pl.
Important: Messages from UE Katowice staff, including information from the Dean's Office, will only be sent to addresses in the @edu.uekat.pl domain.
Email and Google Workspace Information.
Students are responsible for regularly checking their email at the @edu.uekat.pl domain. It's also worth checking your "Spam" folder, as messages may end up there automatically.
Student's oath and commitment
The oath and commitment forms will be available in the USOSweb system starting October 1, 2026, immediately after logging in.
To sign the documents electronically, simply select the "ACCEPT" option.
Signing the oath is required to obtain student status. After obtaining student status, you can receive a certificate of study.
The certificate is issued by the dean's office employee responsible for your specific field of study and year of study.
Detailed schedule of the academic year
All applications must be submitted by the deadlines specified in the schedule.
Student ID card
After signing the oath in USOSweb, you will be able to generate a code for the mLegitymacja, which will be available in the mObywatel app.
The mLegitymacja is free and has the same validity as a traditional student ID. Once generated and added to the mObywatel app, there is no need to obtain a plastic ID card or extend its validity.
How to generate mLegitymacja?
After logging in to USOSweb, you must:
- go to the FOR STUDENTS tab,
- select mLegitymacja,
- select Order mLegitymacja,
- after issuing the code, select Add mLegitymacja to mObywatel.
Students without a PESEL number can still obtain a plastic ID card and extend it as usual, by affixing a hologram in the Dean's Office.
A plastic ID card is available to students without a PESEL number and to students with a PESEL number who also wish to use this form of ID.
To do this, student should submit an application and pay a fee of PLN 22. After submitting the application for a plastic ID card in the Dean's Office, the assigned payment amount will be displayed in the system. The information required for payment will be visible in USOSweb in the Unsettled Amounts tab. Payment should not be made before the registration appears in the system.
The application for a plastic ID card is available on the Dean's Office website. This page also contains all applicable application forms for the Dean of the School of undergraduate and graduate studies.
The application should be submitted to the Dean's Office, to the person responsible for the given program and year, either by email or in person.
Graduates of the University of Economics in Katowice can extend the validity of their plastic student ID issued during their first-cycle studies at the Dean's Office.
Class schedule
The class schedule for the winter semester of the 2026/2027 academic year will be available in USOSweb no later than two weeks before the start of classes. Schedules are subject to change, so we recommend checking the system regularly for updates.
The schedule can be synchronized with your Google Calendar.
To view the current class schedule, log in to your USOSweb account. The class schedule for the current week will automatically be displayed in the "MY USOSWEB" tab.
To access a broader schedule:
- select the "Class Schedule" tile ,
- specify your preferred view (weekly or semester),
- and then indicate the appropriate time period.
If you choose a weekly view, set the date range to include the first week of classes.
The following information will be visible in the class schedule:
- name of the subject,
- type of classes (LAB – laboratory, LEK – language course, WYK – lecture, ĆW – exercises ),
- group number,
- class room and building,
- hour of classes.
Classes marked as n/z are held remotely. Instructors will send invitations to Google Classroom before the start of classes. If you do not receive an invitation, please contact the instructor directly.
Classes for first-year part-time students often begin in mid-October. To view the correct class schedule, select the appropriate week.
Information regarding the organization of classes in the 2026/27 academic year.
Registration for mandatory physical education classes
This information is only for students listed in the announcement.
Registration for physical education classes in the winter semester of the 2026/2027 academic year will begin in September 2026.
The exact registration deadline will be announced well in advance. Information will be sent to email addresses at the @edu.uekat.pl domain.
As the classes are subject to limited space, admission to the selected group will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis.
Failure to register for physical education classes will result in ineligibility for pass this course, with all the consequences arising from the Academic Regulations.
In the first year of studies, compulsory physical education classes concern the following fields of study:
- Economics,
- Finance and Accounting for Business,
- Managerial Finance,
- Digital Economy
- International Business,
- Spatial Economy and Geoinformatics ,
- Logistics,
- Law in Management,
- Entrepreneurship and Finance,
- Tourism Management.
In other fields of study, physical education classes begin in the second year of studies. Registration for these classes will take place in the summer semester of 2026/2027.
How do I sign up for classes?
- Log in to your account on USOSweb.
- Select the STUDENT’S SECTION tab.
- Choose the REGISTRATION button.
- Select REGISTRATION FOR COURSES.
- find the correct registration.
- Click on GO TO REGISTRATION.
- Click on the “shopping cart” icon.
- Choose classes.
- Click REGISTER.
Registration for mandatory english language courses
This information is only for students listed in the announcement.
Polish-Language Programs - Part-time Studies
Mandatory registration for English language courses will take place in October. Each student is required to enroll in classes at one of two target language levels – B2 or B2+. Classes will focus on learning English for business purposes and will conclude with an exam at the selected level.
Detailed registration information will be sent to the university email address before registration begins.
International Business and Finance and Accounting for Business - Full-time Studies
Registration for foreign language courses will take place in the second half of September.
Detailed information about the language courses offered and the registration process will be sent to the university email address one week before registration begins.
International Business - Part-time Studies
Registration for foreign language courses will take place in early October.
Detailed information about the language courses offered and the registration process will be sent to the university email address one week before registration begins.
Scholarships and financial aid
Information on scholarships and other forms of financial aid, including deadlines and application submission locations, can be found on the University's website.
Study fees
Tuition fees and payment deadlines will be visible in the USOSweb system.
After logging in to USOSweb, you must:
- enter the tab COMMON SECTION
- choose PAYMENTS
- choose UNCLEARED DEBTS
- mark (v) the selected payment and select the tile TRANSFER DETAILS.

Before signing the oath
Resignation from studies before signing the oath should be sent:
- until 30th of September on e-mail: rekrutacja@ue.katowice.pl
- from 1st of October on e-mail: dziekanat@ue.katowice.pl
In the message sent to the dean's office, please indicate the program and form of studies to which the resignation applies.
