We hosted excellent representatives of the world of business, science and politics who gave inspirational lectures. They also answered every, even the most difficult, question of our students and academics. The event was organized by the Bureau for Cooperation with Corporate Partners and University Alumni. Between 14-15 of May 2018 another edition of the congress lectures - The EEC Leaders of Tomorrow took place. At The University of Economics in Katowice we hosted special guests and over 2,500 participants of lectures and discussion panels. The latest edition of this event was inaugurated by the Vice-Rector for Education and Internationalization, Prof. Sławomir Smyczek.
On the first day, the inspiring speaches were delivered by:
- Justina Mutale, Justina Mutale Foundation, African Women of the Year 2012;
- MacDella Mackie Cooper, activist / philanthropist / politician;
- Adrian Kostrzębski, PR & Sales Director, ESL Polska;
- Olgierd Dziekoński, Polish architect, expert for local development & self-government, V-Mayor of Warsaw, CEO of MDA, V-minister at Min. of Regional Dev & Construction & Min. of Infrastructure, Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the President of Poland; 2010-2015 - Chief of the Presidential Advisors.
During the second day of the event, congress lectures and discussion panels were conducted by:
- Justin Yifu Lin, Former Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President, World Bank;
- Tomasz Wojtkiewicz, CEO of Nextbike Polska SA;
- Ian Brzezinski, Foreign Policy and Military Affairs Expert;
- Wojciech Balczun, CEO of PKP Cargo in 2008-2013, CEO of the Ukrainian Railways in 2016-2017;
- Iwona Sroka, Member of the Supervisory Board; Member of the Board, Skarbiec TFI SA; Murapol SA.
The formula of the open lectures was based on interaction between the speakers and students often leading to interesting and constructive discussions.
The event was held as part of the European Economic Congress.
