Cyclical educational and advisory projects implemented in cooperation with companies, institutions and alumni

Career Academy – the University’s original project

Career Academy is an original educational and advisory project of the Careers Service and Alumni Relations of the University of Economics in Katowice. The aim of the project is to activate students and alumni of the University and support them in developing soft skills and navigating the labor market. The project is implemented in cooperation with companies, public institutions and graduates. The offer of meetings is adapted to the needs of employers as well as the expectations and interests of students and alumni. The workshops address important problems that students and graduates may encounter while looking for a job or during their professional career. Within the project, the Center invites the following persons to cooperate: personnel directors, psychologists, specialists-practitioners and other employees of companies and institutions who meet candidates applying for jobs on a daily basis and who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. The cycle is carried out twice a year.

Business Academy – the University’s original project

Business Academy is another original project of the Careers Service and Alumni Relations, implemented since 2011. It is a series of trainings, workshops and meetings aimed at expanding the knowledge of students and graduates of the University of Economics in Katowice in terms of starting and running their own businesses. The Center organizes meetings with business owners, as well as trainings and workshops with experts on topics related to running your own business. Within the framework of the aforementioned project, the Careers Service and Alumni Relations has already organized over 80 meetings, workshops and trainings.

Corporate Readliness Certificate (CRC)

Corporate Readliness Certificate (CRC) is a prestigious program for students and graduates. It is organized by leading companies such as: IBM Client Innovation Center Wrocław & Katowice (currently: kyndryl), ING Tech Poland, Accenture, and from the 2020/21 edition also Ernst & Young (EY). Program partners are selected universities (including - since the beginning of the Program – Careers Service and Alumni Relations of the University of Economics in Katowice). As part of the CRC Program, students and alumni have the opportunity to participate in: 

1. Corporate Readiness Certificate - educational program conducted in Upper and Lower Silesia, designed to expand and consolidate students' knowledge of IT and business; candidates have to pass an exam in order to participate in the program;
2. #CRC webinars loosely resemble the traditional CRC program by giving students the opportunity to participate in educational sessions conducted remotely by three business and IT companies ( implemented since 2020).

The program offers a rapid development of skills and competencies, as well as gaining basic practical knowledge in the IT area, so that participants can work in a business environment. After passing the exam at the end of the program, the participant receives a certificate that is highly valued by employers. In addition, the best students are offered internships in the above mentioned companies.

Statistics regarding 2020/21 edition:
1349 students (including 227 from the University of Economics in Katowice) expressed their willingness to participate in the 2020/21 edition of the certified CRC Program (Ref. 1). 424 students (including 52 students from the University of Economics in Katowice, which gave us 4th place in terms of the number of students accepted per university - we consider it a very good result, due to the largely technical subject matter of the paths) were qualified to participate in the above mentioned edition.
