Tasks

The tasks of Career Service and Alumni Relations comprise in particular:

  1. acquisition and publication of job opportunities,
  2. provision of information on the job market and opportunities to improve professional qualifications to University students and alumni,
  3. careers advisory: supporting alumni in entering the job market,
  4. conducting regular surveys on the employers’ expectations,
  5. organization and co-organization of initiatives aimed at career development and encouraging employment among University students and alumni,
  6. monitoring the economic environment of the University, with particular focus on the activity of University alumni and assessing the opportunities for establishing cooperation,
  7. compilation and updating of a database of companies and institutions where students can do their work placement and work on research projects,
  8. establishing cooperation with alumni, potential employers,
  9. communication of job market news and trends via the website, newsletters and social media,
  10. dissemination of information on presentations of companies as the potential employers of students and alumni which are organized at the University,
  11. gathering information on courses, training and postgraduate education as well as other forms of improving professional qualifications in Poland and abroad and sharing it with University students and alumni,
  12. building and maintaining relations with alumni through regular communication (website, newsletter, social media), organization of integration events, as well as development, coordination and management of the loyalty program called The System of Privileges for Alumni - SPA (Polish: System Przywilejów Absolwenta),
  13. monitoring the career and professional history of alumni through regular surveys (including surveys of the alumni’s satisfaction with the completed study program and preparation for work or further education) as well as analysis of the available sources of information, including the ELA (Polish System for Tracking the Economic Situation of Higher Education Graduates) and LinkedIn,
  14. preparation of survey reports which present their results and analyze them, including the typical career path of University alumni,
  15. administration of the website section titled “alumni successes”,
  16. cooperation with the COLLEGIUM Association of Alumni of the University of Economics in Katowice.
