The tasks of the Careers Service and Alumni Relations include:

  • planning, organizing and participating in various forms of University’s cooperation with entities in the business and institutional environment;
  • developing draft framework contracts, agreements and letters of intent concerning the cooperation of University units or its organizational units (in particular its Faculties) with business and entrepreneurship entities non-profit organisations and public administration;
  • keeping records and monitoring the implementation of signed framework contracts, agreements and letters of intent;
  • organizing and coordinating within the University the process for establishing the cooperation between the University and its environment in selected areas of activity;
  • organizing, in cooperation with other University units, lecture series and meetings with representatives of business, business practitioners and public administration;
  • monitoring the economic environment of the University, with particular emphasis on the activities of University's alumni, and assessing the opportunities for establishing cooperation;
  • providing administrative support for the Committee for Projects Risk Assessment;
  • cooperation with the "Friends of the University of Economics in Katowice" Association and the "COLLEGIUM" Alumni Association on developing forms of cooperation between the University, its economic environment and entities in the public finance sector;
  • administrative and technical support for domestic student internships and work experience,
  • monitoring of the alumni careers;
  • developing permanent forms for cooperation with entities in the University’s socio-economic environment to facilitate the provision of domestic internships and work experience;
  • organizing and coordinating workshops and training concerning professional activation, entrepreneurship and industry-specific development of professional qualifications;
  • encouraging the academic community of the University and the region to undertake business activity,
  • inspiring cooperation between the academic community of the University and the business community in the region;
  • supporting research and knowledge transfer in cooperation with the Research and Knowledge Transfer  Center (Polish acronym: CBiTW);
  • cooperation with organizations supporting the development of entrepreneurship.
