Last week, our University’s Welcome Point hosted a unique series of events that immersed the academic community in a magical, winter mood. During three days full of integration, tradition and fun, both Polish and international students had the opportunity to feel the magic of the upcoming Christmas season.
Decorating the Christmas tree together - Monday, December 1, 2025
We started the week with a highly festive event – decorating the Christmas tree together. The mood at Welcome Point immediately took on a festive character as students hung ornaments and lights, accompanied by classic seasonal songs. It was an excellent opportunity to talk, get to know each other, and create a space together that will accompany all visitors to Welcome Point in the coming weeks.
Trip to the Katowice Christmas Market - Wednesday, December 3, 2025
The next activity was a visit to the Katowice Christmas Market. Participants had the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of the city, adorned with festive lights, try traditional delicacies, and learn about Polish winter customs.
St. Nicholas Meeting - Friday, December 5, 2025
The culmination of the entire week was the St. Nicholas Meeting (Polish Mikołajki), during which students learned about the traditions associated with the celebration of St. Nicholas Day. The event was accompanied by gingerbread decorating. There was also a unique atmosphere of warmth, smiles, and friendliness, which are an integral part of holiday gatherings.
We would like to thank all participants for their active involvement in the events and encourage you to follow the Welcome Point Instagram profile to stay up-to-date with future events and initiatives!
