The program involves assisting and caring for foreign students during the first months of their studies and even before they arrive in Poland. Each enrolled student is assigned one student mentor - Uni Buddy - with whom he or she can contact electronically even before the start of the academic year to get answers to all his or her questions. On the day of arrival, a Uni Buddy is supposed to pick up the student from his/her arrival point and escort him/her to his/her place of residence. The Uni Buddy, as a person familiar with the student world and the city of Katowice, will be there to help with matters such as currency exchange, setting up a bank account and choosing a mobile network.

The goal of the program is to help foreign students acclimate to their new place, integrate more quickly into the academic community, and get to know the city and region.

For Uni Buddies, on the other hand, it's a great opportunity for international and cross-cultural exchange and to enrich student life with meetings with people from all over the world.
