On March 28, 2025, an exceptional edition of the World Cafe series took place, dedicated to exploring the traditions and meaning of Ramadan. Organized by Welcome Point, the event was held at the CNTI building of UE Katowice.
The meeting began with an insightful presentation by Mariam Elfeky, a UE Katowice student from Egypt, who offered a thoughtful look into the significance of Ramadan. She shared rich details about its spiritual essence, customs, and how the celebration varies across different cultures and countries.
Following the presentation, participants had the chance to embark on a culinary journey, tasting a variety of traditional Ramadan dishes. This hands-on experience was not just about food, but also about dialogue, reflection, and meaningful cultural exchange.
Engaging conversations and thought-provoking questions sparked during the event allowed attendees to broaden their perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the holiday. The gathering beautifully demonstrated how, despite cultural and geographical differences, students often have more in common than they might expect.
