How to get to Katowice?
Thanks to its location in the central part of Europe and a well-developed transport network, Katowice can be easily accessed from different corners of the world. The city is situated within a small distance from five European capitals – Berlin, Bratislava, Prague, Warsaw and Vienna.
BY PLANE
1. From Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport
By public transport:
Take the PKM Katowice shuttle bus from the airport to the centre of Katowice. The bus stops at the Novotel / Ibis hotels.
Ticket price: single PLN 20, return PLN 40. You can buy the ticket from the driver, make an online reservation or telephone reservation (reservation number +48 32 236 1111). Please check here for the timetable and more information.
By taxi:
A taxi from the airport costs approx. PLN 170 if you take the Airport Taxi, and approx. PLN 130 if you order another company car (e.g. +48 32 204 21 21, or +48 32 201 42 00). You can also make a taxi reservation on http://taxipyrzowice.pl/en/reservation
2. From Kraków-Balice Airport
There are several carriers which can take you to the centre of Katowice. Timetables and more information are available here.
Another way to get to Katowice is to go to Kraków city centre (options) and then take a train to Katowice or take a UNIBUSfrom the main bus station, which will carry you directly to the centre of Katowice.
A taxi from Balice to Katowice costs approx. PLN 200 (prior reservation recommended).
3. From Warsaw Chopin Airport
Get to the central train station by train or bus no. 175, then take a train to Katowice.
4. From Ostrava Airport (Czech Republic)
Get to the central train station by bus or train, then take a train to Katowice.
BY TRAIN
There are direct train connections between Katowice and Vienna (5 hrs), Berlin (8 hrs) andPrague (5 hrs).
BY COACH
