Integration Week
Integration Week is an event for international students entering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies at our University. In the winter semester of 2024/2025, we welcomed as many as 200 students from nearly 40 countries.
The Integration Week, which took place between 23 and 27 September, was meant to allow international students to establish relationships with colleagues from Poland and other countries. During this time, they got to know the region, the city, and our University. The program included numerous activities, such as Polish language workshops, a field game on campus, a visit to the Silesian Planetarium and the Silesian Museum, bowling and other team-building games.
The highlight of the event was the Global Village, which was organized on September 27. Students from different countries presented their traditions, costumes, as well as food and drinks. Eating food together is something that truly brings people together. Thus, students could experience the flavors of Spain, Serbia, Brazil, Germany, Ukraine, Taiwan, Italy, France, Portugal, Turkey, Japan, the Netherlands and Egypt, among many others. In addition, participants had the opportunity to admire the traditional costumes of students from Ukraine and Egypt, to name a few.
This year's event was partially co-financed by the project, allowing students to enjoy a number of additional activities to foster integration.
