The Uni Buddy program involves assisting and guiding international students during the first months of their studies, even before they arrive in Poland. UE Katowice students already familiar with the academic world participate in the program and are assigned as mentors to new students. They are also involved in organizing activities dedicated to international students. The program is very popular and includes international students who were themselves assisted by a Uni Buddy at the beginning of their studies. Numerous discussions have been held with the participants to develop the program further, and they have repeatedly indicated that integration between participants needs to be improved. Hence, organizing an integration meeting for Uni Buddy program participants, which allowed for strengthening relationships within the group and increased motivation for joint initiatives, will ultimately translate into the range and quality of activities aimed at international students.
