Conference "Cities of the future - the future in the city" is an inspiring scientific event that places the city at the center of reflection on the future. Its premise and past experience indicate that the conference is a meeting place for science, practice, and innovative thinking, open to interdisciplinary, diverse research perspectives and experiences from Poland and abroad.

The conference program covers a broad spectrum of topics centered around urban studies, encompassing spatial, social, economic, environmental, technical, technological, and cultural perspectives. The conference's dynamic nature is reflected in modern and engaging forms of participation, such as panel discussions (scientific and expert), problem-solving sessions, kaleidoscopic sessions, and poster presentations. This format fosters lively debate, the exchange of ideas, and the establishment of valuable scientific contacts.

The conference is addressed to both experienced researchers and young scientists starting their scientific careers, as well as practitioners of spatial and strategic planning, practitioners of managing the development of cities and urban areas and all persons interested in the functioning and processes of urban development.

The participation of foreign guests gives the event an international dimension, enabling the confrontation of different models of thinking about the city and its future.

Conference "Cities of the future - futures in the city" is not only a presentation of research results, but also a joint search for answers to the key challenges of contemporary urbanization and a place where new ideas, cooperation and visions of the functioning of cities in space and all entities in the city are born.

The aim of the conference is:

• creating an interdisciplinary space for scientific debate concerning research on cities and urban areas, taking into account various theoretical, methodological and empirical perspectives;
• presentation of current research results and innovative concepts regarding the transformation of cities and scenarios for their future development, within various forms of deliberations in sessions: scientific-expert, problem-based, discussion, kaleidoscopic and poster;
• integration of the research community at various stages of a scientific career, with particular emphasis on participation students, doctoral students and young scientists, by creating conditions conducive to the exchange of experiences, methodological discussions and the development of research competences;
• initiating national and international cooperation and building research networks around urban issues, with the participation of invited foreign guests;
• collecting and disseminating conference proceedings, including abstracts, presentations, posters and research materials, as well as preparing post-conference publications;
• highlighting the strategic importance of urban research as a key area of reflection on the challenges of today and the future, important for the development of science, public policies and urban planning and management practices.
