Conference Aim and Details

For many years, the energy sector has been missing a raison d'etre and now finally there is the clear call for that to be justice. The transformation of the energy sector is one of the most important tasks of Governments today in advancing their economies. New energy sources and projects are an opportunity for economic, social and scientific development. Energy justice guarantees the success of the energy transition, allows us to address the global energy access problem globally and is a holistic study of the energy sector. The aim of the conference is an international debate of researchers on the energy transition and energy justice. The debate will cover the legal and economic nature of the energy sector in Poland, Europe and across the World.

The focus of this international event will be to improve just outcomes at the local, national and international levels in the energy sector. We encourage all contributions to be focused on issues around energy justice at these three different levels. The conference is organized by the first legal and economic research team in Poland at the University of Economics in Katowice: Department of Energy Transformation (Head: Professor Marzena Czarnecka).

The conference is co-organized by: Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, University of Silesia in Katowice and the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Katowice later this year for the 2nd International Academic Conference "Energy justice & energy transition". Uniquely,
Katowice is the European City of Science 2024, and to celebrate this, selected submissions will be considered for publication for a top tier international scientific journal.
