Students
SUPPORT is provided to people:
- disabled people who have a current disability certificate or an equivalent document;
- chronically ill people without a disability certificate, whose health situation is confirmed by medical documentation submitted to the Center;
- whose sudden illness or accident results in temporary inability to fully participate in classes, and these circumstances are confirmed by specialist documentation submitted to the Center;
- with other special needs (e.g. pregnant women, people caring for a disabled family member).
Forms of support offered by UE Katowice to students requiring additional assistance:
- student assistant,
- University internal parking access (only for people with mobility impairments),
- compensatory physical education classes,
- compensatory foreign language classes,
- adaptation of teaching materials (e.g., enlarged font),
- provision of teaching materials,
- adaptation of conditions for credits and exams,
- specialized equipment, e.g., Braille printer, keyboard for the visually impaired, etc.,
- sign language interpreter,
- psychological support,
- other (e.g., changing the classroom to be accessible to people with limited mobility).
DEADLINES
Winter semester
Applications for compensatory PE and foreign language classes should be submitted by October 31 of the current academic year.
Applications for other types of support should be submitted no later than 3 weeks before the expected date of support.
Summer semester
Applications for compensatory PE and foreign language classes should be submitted by February 28 of the current academic year
Applications for other types of support should be submitted no later than 3 weeks before the expected date of support.

Our Center does not provide material aid. Such forms of assistance are provided by the Office for School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies (Student Services). A student with a disability is entitled to all the benefits to which all students are entitled and, in addition, to the scholarship for students with disabilities.
