Educational Objectives

The Polish–Italian Intensive School on Energy Transition has been designed to provide participants with both a comprehensive understanding of contemporary energy transition challenges and the practical competencies required to address them effectively in professional and policy-making environments.

Through a combination of expert-led lectures, interactive workshops, negotiation simulations and collaborative project work, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • develop a comprehensive understanding of the key challenges and opportunities associated with the energy transition in Europe and globally;
  • gain insight into the functioning of European Union energy and climate policy frameworks, including the objectives and instruments supporting the transition towards climate neutrality;
  • examine and critically assess different models of just transition, with particular attention to industrial and coal-dependent regions undergoing structural transformation;
  • strengthen their leadership, negotiation and decision-making skills through practical exercises and policy simulations;
  • develop the ability to work effectively in international and multicultural teams, fostering intercultural awareness and collaboration;
  • explore the practical realities of the energy sector, including regulatory, economic, technological and geopolitical dimensions of energy transition;
  • enhance their analytical and problem-solving capabilities through the examination of real-world case studies and contemporary policy challenges;
  • gain experience in project-based learning, policy analysis and the presentation of research findings and strategic recommendations;
  • improve their communication and public speaking skills through active participation in debates, discussions and group presentations;
  • build professional networks with fellow students, academics, policymakers and energy sector experts from different countries and disciplinary backgrounds.

The programme is designed not only to expand participants’ academic knowledge but also to equip them with the practical skills, international experience and professional confidence necessary to contribute to the development of a sustainable, secure and resilient energy future.
