Application and Selection Process

Participation in the Polish–Italian Intensive School on Energy Transition is open exclusively to students of the University of Economics in Katowice and the University of Pavia.
Due to the interactive nature of the programme and the limited number of places available, participants will be selected through a competitive application process. The School aims to bring together highly motivated students who demonstrate a genuine interest in energy transition, sustainability, climate policy, energy security and related fields.

Applicants must:

  • hold the status of a student at the University of Economics in Katowice or the University of Pavia at the time of application;
  • demonstrate an interest in issues related to energy transition, sustainability, climate policy, energy law, energy economics or related areas;
  • be willing to actively participate in all programme activities conducted in English.

Students who participated in the first edition of the Polish–Italian Intensive School on Energy Transition held at the University of Pavia in May 2026 may submit their certificate of participation as evidence of prior engagement in energy-related academic activities.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed on the basis of:

  • the quality and motivation demonstrated in the motivation letter;
  • the relevance of the applicant’s academic interests to the themes of the School;
  • previous participation in academic activities related to the energy sector;
  • the applicant’s potential contribution to the international and interdisciplinary character of the programme.

Participation in Previous Editions

Participation in the first edition of the Polish–Italian Intensive School on Energy Transition at the University of Pavia does not exclude applicants from taking part in the Katowice Edition.

On the contrary, students who participated in the inaugural edition are encouraged to apply and continue their engagement with the programme, contributing their experience to discussions, workshops and collaborative activities while further developing their knowledge and international networks.

Number of Places

The number of places is strictly limited.

A maximum of 20 students will be admitted to the programme:
