Evaluation and Selection Procedure
To ensure a transparent, fair and merit-based selection process, all applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee composed of:
- Professor Katarzyna Gromek-Broc (University of Pavia);
- Dr Marcin Kraśniewski (University of Economics in Katowice);
- two academic staff members of the Department of Energy Transition at the University of Economics in Katowice.
Each application will be independently evaluated by two members of the Evaluation Committee. The final score awarded to a candidate will be calculated as the sum of points assigned by both evaluators.
The Evaluation Committee reserves the right to verify the authenticity of all documents submitted by applicants and to request additional information where necessary
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed according to the following criteria:
Criterion | Maximum number of points |
|---|---|
Motivation Letter | 0–10 points |
Confirmation of student status at the University of Economics in Katowice or the University of Pavia | 5 points |
Certificate or other evidence confirming participation in a conference, seminar, summer school, winter school or another academic event related to the energy sector | 5 points |
Maximum score awarded by one evaluator | 20 points |
As each application is assessed by two evaluators, the maximum total score that may be obtained by a candidate is 40 points.
Ranking and Selection of Participants
Following the evaluation process, candidates will be ranked according to the total number of points obtained.
The highest-ranked applicants will be offered places in the programme, subject to the allocation of places available for students from each partner institution.
In the event that two or more candidates obtain the same final score, priority will be given to the candidate whose application was submitted earlier, as determined by the date and time of receipt of the complete application package.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by email no later than 17 October 2026.
