The project "Enhance the circular economy and sustainability. Best practices according to Prof. K. Mathiyazhagana" aims to explore issues related to the implementation of circular economy and sustainable development practices in supply chains. Growing pressure for environmentally friendly and socially responsible actions requires innovative approaches and cooperation with recognized experts.

Prof. Kaliyan Mathiyazhagan is a world-class researcher in the field of sustainable supply chains, circular economy, and Lean Six Sigma. In 2023 and 2024, he was recognized in the prestigious TOP 2% international scientists ranking.

The invitation of Prof. Mathiyazhagan, an acclaimed expert in sustainable supply chains, enables the implementation of activities of high scientific and social value. His extensive experience, including serving as Assistant/Associate Editor at prestigious journals and as a speaker at international conferences, presents a unique opportunity to develop the research and teaching skills of our staff.

The invitation of Prof. K. Mathiyazhagan to our University will enable:

• Consultations on sustainable supply chains, circular economy, and Industry 4.0 implementation
• Workshops and seminars for students, doctoral students, and academic staff on publishing in prestigious scientific journals (including editorial requirements and research methodology)
• Public lectures highlighting the latest trends in sustainable business development and lean management,
• Joint development and review of scientific papers, which may increase the prestige of our University in the international arena.

The project was initiated and prepared by dr hab. Artur Strzelecki, prof. UE, with the support of Internationalization.

The project has been co-financed by the Metropolis GZM within the framework of the "Metropolitan Science and Education Support Fund" program. All activities planned for the project are scheduled to be implemented in 2025, and the total grant amount is PLN 43,065.00.
